Happy November! I’m beaming with excitement over my October income report! Every new month that comes my way takes me by surprise – I am surpassing my goals month after month. This will be my 5th month blogging! For October, I’ve earned more than I’ve ever made. If you haven’t already checked out my previous month’s earnings for September 2017, I highly recommend doing that first – I included a bunch of helpful tips to help you get started with monetizing and growing within the blogging community that you don’t want to miss.
So now that you’re all caught up, here’s the good fortune I was brought in October…
I know – trust me. I fight myself on sharing these income reports, because there can be A LOT of negative attention that comes my way after I hit that PUBLISH button. It’s actually a little intimidating, especially when family members or friends read them and have something to say. That something isn’t always nice. Is it jealousy? Resentment? I really don’t know, but it sure makes this blogging mama sad. I mean, I get it. There’s a reason you don’t go waving around your paycheck to everyone you work with, or all your friends and family. It’s kind of taboo.
The real reason I share my earnings each month is, for one, to hold myself accountable, and two, to inspire others the way I have been inspired to earn money while doing something that I love.
I have always LOVED to write. It all started with journals, and then I moved onto poems (not my best work), and now as an adult I have established a very successful blog! Writing is truly my passion, and thank goodness I can write, because I wouldn’t make a very good public speaker.
My knees shake and I break out in hives all over.
When I began my blogging journey (with this blog, at least – because THE FIRST ONE FAILED MISERABLY), I came across a bunch of income reports. Um…people share their personal income reports for their blogs online? *FAN GIRL SCREAM*. I was so excited, because I really needed some kind of inside glimpse into the life of someone who blogs for a living. Like, they blog for a living and can actually pay their bills with their earnings. Because that’s what I was looking for. Everyone hopes to do the thing(s) they love for money. Ever hear that tired sales pitch, “Do you dream of doing what you love, and getting PAID for it?!”
I’m giggling over here now, because it sounds super cheese balls. But once you figure out a system, blogging can be that for you. Reading all those other income reports truly gave me a direction in which I could take my blog, They also gave me ideas for awesome affiliates to work with, navigating my way through social media platforms, and ways I could increase traffic to my blog.
By sharing my income report with you, I am hoping to inspire you the way I was inspired. I want to light a fire under your ass, and encourage you to be fearless when it comes to earning a passive income from your blog while doing what you love. I’m still learning and growing, but I want to share my successes with you so you can experience that same *FAN GIRL SCREAM* moment I had when I realized I was actually earning some serious money.
Okay, I’m going to put a quarter in the swear jar, and spill my secrets….
October 2017 Earnings
Total Earnings For October 2017: $1,027.89
In September, I doubled my earnings from August, and now in October, I’ve nearly doubled my earnings from September! I can only pray for further growth in these next couple months of 2017 (um, where did the YEAR go?!), and am ever thankful for the support of my readers and fellow blogging sisters.

I am just going to give myself a huge pat on the back here – I am super proud of myself for reaching 10k views on my blog for October. It’s taken a lot of time, work, and dedication to get myself this far in the past 5 months, and I really hope to keep up the success!

*I had a jump on Facebook because of a giveaway that I did, and a collaboration I did with a newer baby product that is popular on Facebook, the BabyDam.
I’m in total disbelief of my recent Pinterest reach numbers being OVER 500,000 monthly viewers!
Ummmm whaaaaat?! Yes, here’s a screenshot to prove it….
What I’d Like To Work On:
I really want to gain some more organic reach and activity on my Facebook and Instagram page. I have no trouble gaining followers – but I’m lacking the interaction. I really want to reach my audience on a personal level, so I am going to start a Facebook live series, where I can address questions, comments, and thoughts on my blog.
I would LOVE to reach 100 e-mail subscribers as well. I am currently at 81. I had a few unsuscribers because of my latest post on Surviving Hunting Season (which I had no clue was controversial – but I can understand why some of my readers feel the way they do about hunting as a whole…I used to be a vegetarian myself!)
Okay, here’s the breakdown, blogging ladies, so bear with me because I’ve got all the juicy info right here….
I discovered some really awesome ecourses and ebooks this past month that helped me freaking skyrocket into the blogging world. I couldn’t be happier with the success they’ve brought me, and all the useful information and strategies I’ve been able to implement. Here are some of my helpful tips for you on your monetizing journey:
Step Your Game Up!
I recently took the ecourses: Pinfinite Growth by Melyssa Griffin and Pinteresting Strategies. I wouldn’t be where I am AT ALL without these courses! Pinfinite Growth is a complete breakdown of Pinterest, your blog, and social media reach. It’s on the more expensive side of ecourses for your blog, but Melyssa includes 100 days of Boardbooster for free, and access to 8 modules with free updates and access to them at anytime. With her course, I’ve really branched out to build my e-mail newsletter subscriptions and have seen some really awesome results. I want to say that her course is more like a podcast, with a free detailed workbook you can print off and follow along to. (Melyssa just updated her program to include the new hashtag system that Pinterest has implemented, and will continue to update you once you purchase her program!) One of her techies actually looked at everyones Pinterest profiles within her Facebook group (exclusive to Pinfinte Growth customers) and gave them personalized pointers on how to improve their SEO, boards, keywords, etc.
Pinteresting Strategies is a game changer! Did you see my VIRAL post, 15 Things That Happen To You After Childbirth with over 5,000 views this past month? Yeah, I’m pretty excited about that 😉. That success is in part thanks to Carly and her ecourse. She really breaks down Pinterest, and introduces a different way to help your pins go viral that literally, NO ONE else is teaching. HIIIIIIIGHLY RECOMMEND. I’ve only been implementing her course for one week and had a pin go viral. *Plus, it’s super affordable!*
Tailwind helped my traffic TREMENDOUSLY, my reach is now almost 600k! **Click HERE to sign up to try their plus program for FREE for your first 100 scheduled pins ;)**
Start networking with other bloggers – ask questions, team up for blog posts, and help promote each other. One of my great blogging friends, Karen from MammaBearSays.com and I recently teamed up to do a #boymom vs. #girlmom post where we listed 15 things that made being a boy mom/girl mom awesome.
Place affiliate ads throughout your top 10 most popular posts…even if you aren’t really trying to ‘sell’ something… | example 1 | example 2 | example 3 | Don’t forget to add an affiliate disclosure to your site and each post containing links that contain affiliate links. Amazon requires a specific wording for their disclosure (see my sidebar image if you need an example). You want to remain FTC compliant so you don’t get fined. Here’s an awesome free quiz you can take to see if your work passes as FTC compliant! Explore affiliate programs. There is more out there than just Amazon! Don’t be afraid to place banners in your posts, not just in your header/footer areas. Advertising while people are scrolling through your content is a great way to grab their attention. But, try not to overdo it.
Be sure to create eye-catching Pinterest photos that BEG to be clicked on! This means including text overlay, people! I’ve seen this SO many times where blogs do not have pinterest-friendly images, and it really hurts your stats. Almost no one is going to pin a photo of you and your kids from your blog, no matter how good your post on Summer Beach Tips With A Toddler might be. You need to make it as easy as possible for someone to look at your pin, understand what it is they are clicking on (i.e. 5 Reasons You Should Already Be In A Milk Bath).
Constantly promote your blog. Whether this is on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, or through your subscription list e-mail newsletters, never. stop. promoting.
Well, there you have it! I am incredibly proud to say that I almost doubled last months income report. I am so very thankful for the support of my family, friends, blogging sisters, and readers.
